FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who Organises Southampton City Live?
The event is a collaboration between Matt Bunday Events Limited, 103.9 Voice FM Radio and Southampton Solent University.

Why is the event taking place?
The event came from a desire of Southampton City Council to make more use of the Bandstand space. Matt Bunday Events and Voice FM decided to launch Bandstand LIVE! in 2015, and it then grew in 2016 and we’re now running our third year on Saturday 13th May 2017, when we have renamed it ‘Southampton City LIVE!’ to be able to grow it for the future and provide an environment for expansion.

How is the event funded?
The event receives no council funding, with any funding coming from sponsors and any money that we’re able to get and through concessions and small stands. So please support and buy from these stands to help the event to survive and grow.

Where are the toilets? There will be portaloos at the site. Also, most of the event takes place during the daytime. So West Quay, The Marlands, and other places with public loos will be available.

What do I do with my rubbish?
Rubbish at the event will need to be cleared up by the event team. So please help us by putting rubbish in the bins provided or taking it away with you.
If you see a bin that is full please inform a steward in a high-vis jacket.

What do I do with my valuables?
Please take care to keep them safe. Although this is a daytime family event, there is a risk of opportunist theft due to the number of people being in one place.
Take care and report anything suspicious to a steward or the police.

Where do I park?
There is no designated event parking. However, the venue is in the City Centre with ample local public parking, both in car parks and adjacent streets.

What if I have a disability?
The site is flat and well served by tarmac paths and therefore suitable for wheel chair users. We would be pleased to help anyone with a disability to access the event so please contact us if you think we can help.

Will there be alcohol there?
Yes! There will be a bar available on site so please remember to bring your ID and of course, cash.
Buying a pint or a glass of wine could be a great way to support the event and help it to grow in the future.

May I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome, but we would request that it be kept on a lead at all times.

Are any items prohibited?
For the safety of those taking part and attending we would request that visitors do not bring the following items:

Please do not distribute flyers without obtaining permission from the event organisers.

How do I get involved? If you are interested in contributing any art, theatre or music at Southampton City LIVE!, or you would like to have either a small stand at the event or a food stall, information can be found on this website or drop us an email at southamptoncitylive@mattbundayevents.com
